Our starting point – The assessment process
Are you practicing hard but not improving?
Has your game reached a plateau or getting worse?
Unsure of how to make headway?
At the academy, we make decisions about how to help you improve in a number of ways. Our starting point is a detailed 1 hour assessment where we will take the time to gather important information on your game and then observe you in a few key areas. We recognise that every golfer is different and has different needs therefore we will create a plan tailored to you, taking into account your goals, and how much you play and practice.
The assessment is entirely personal to you. Our coaches won’t try and sell you a generic 10 session plan, instead they will devise a plan specific to your goals and aspirations.
During the assessment and beyond our coaches are trained to help you with:
Technical development
We will be able to diagnose the true causes of your ball flight issues as well as clear and simple drills to improve the key aspects of your swing.
Short game / putting.
At Rustington Golf Centre, we have one of the best short game facilities in the country. It’s no surprise that we love helping our pupils develop their skills on and around the green. Our coaches can help you understand how to execute the short game shots you’ve always wanted to hit, as well as fast and efficient ways to improve your skills on the greens.
Practice
One of the least well understood areas of the game is how to practice effectively. Our coaches have spent countless hours learning how to help golfers train effectively so you can get better faster. So we will help you design clear and concise practice plans.
On course Coaching
We spent a lot of time with our pupils on the course. At the appropriate time, we will get out on the course with you and look at the more subtle aspects of your game, such as course management, decision making , shot choices around the green and offer simple solutions to help you drop shots in your game quickly through better course management.
Psychology
Golf as we know is more than a technical game. How we think is important for many reasons such as learning a new movement in the golf swing, performing in a club medal or tournament and learning to overcome small obstacles such as first tee nerves or certain holes that we find challenging. Our coaches can help you in this area, and if appropriate, include this as part of your plan.
We use some of the best coaching technology on the market. These systems give us lots of information as coaches, but we only use the information we need to help you improve and meet your goals. Below are the main coaching systems we use.
